Emergency Pencil Flares

Improve your chances of rescue and survival when in danger. Flares fire 150 feet high and have a sparkling tail.  The tail is ideal for checking wind direction and helps make the flare more visible.  At 150 feet it will reach above most trees and canopies to signal for help should you need.

At 15,000 candela, the flares are as bright as 215 60W light bulbs. They are designed to extinguish after 6 seconds, before they descend to the tree tops, to prevent forest-fires.

Used by the Forest Service, Boy Scouts, the military, FAA pilots, as well as those camping, fishing, canoeing, boating, hiking, climbing, flying, hunting, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. Flares are even great for lighting your way home! The flare light reflects well off of the snow and can help riders get re-oriented to their surroundings.
