Have you noticed that problems just seem to be 'bumps in the road' to some people, yet that same problem might completely overwhelm and immobilize other people?   Huh

What is the difference?  Why do some people 'respond' to a problem and others 'react'?

Over the past few seasons students have asked us to help them gather more tools or get access to better resources.  The thing is, I think that all of these resources are already in our community.  We just need to draw out the experience, observations, and stories from active sledders like yourselves.  The result is relevant and timely information gathered by sledders for sledders.  Can it get any better?!

So, as an answer to REACT VS RESPOND I believe that the answer is experience.  Experience can come through trial and error...pretty deadly in avalanche terrain, but one can also learn through other peoples' experiences.   That is our intention in this web forum.  We would like this site to be the staging area for snowmobile specific avalanche resources and discussions.  With more experience and knowledge riders will have more to draw from when faced with some crazy new dilemma.

This site is brand new and needs your help to generate the material that will help our community from the inside out.  So...pass it on, and come back throughout the season to share your 'whoops', or 'cool' or 'wow....didn't see that coming' stories.

Here's to us.   Grin
