During this period a total of 155 individuals lost their lives in 105 different accidents.
We can learn from tragedy, but it is up to us to invest the time to look back and seek answers to a few questions such as:
- what was the recipe in the snowpack?
- were there warning signs?
- what role did the current weather play?
- what observations were made by the group? How many were missed?
- what actions or skills might have helped the people avoid or minimize the negative consequences the accident?
- what patterns are evident in the fatalities of the past years? How can we use this knowledge to our advantage?
